Sliced organic Iberian bellota sausage from 100% Iberian pigs raised in the oak forests of Extremadura in southern Spain.
Extremadura is the cradle of Iberian ham, with huge tracts of forest where each pig has at least one hectare to itself to feed on acorns. This means that 100 pigs will have at least 100 hectares to roam and eat acorns, roots and grasses.
The amount of acorns each pig eats will be 8-10 kgs per day. This gives an excellent taste to hams, lomo, chorizo and sausages.
In the case of organic sausages, the oak groves where the animals are raised are certified organic and guaranteed free of pesticides, treatments and GMOs.
This sausage is lightly peppered.
